Although there are many sources of E-Waste, to our understanding, they are mainly classified into 3 categories. Some of these are as follows: -

  • Brown Goods 
  • Gray Goods 


White Goods: 

Under this, household materials such as air conditioners, washing machines, and air conditioners are included in the house.

Brown Goods: 

There are televisions, cameras, etc. under it.

Gray Goods: 

Under this, computers, scanners, printers, mobile phones, etc. are included.

It has been learned from the sources that the sale of computers and usage of the internet has increased by more than 400% in developing countries. This sudden increase has also increased the e-waste generated by them. One thing is clearly visible from this, due to which it is increasing so much in the name of computer industry development, if it is not thought over its e-waste then it can become a big threat in the future. 2. Technology: Now it is the time of modern technology, due to which technology is lightning is increasing at a fast speed. Due to this new technology, new products and appliances are coming into the market. So that people do not want to use old things in spite of being spoiled anymore. The hand behind all this is big MNC's (Multinational corporations). From now on, MNC's have become so powerful that they have the ability to change the entire market system of a country. These are the MNC's which always provide better technology to the people. Right now the middle-class families are getting behind the new products due to the good money, which is why the companies are always increasing their quality so that they get more sales. In such a situation, if it is not thought over its e-waste in Hindi, then it can become a big threat in the future.

Due to this new technology, new products and appliances are coming into the market. So that people do not want to use old things in spite of being spoiled anymore.   • Population: Due to the increasing population, the speed of everything has increased considerably. This can be understood by an easy method unitary method. The growing population always wants more to buy new things in exchange for the reuse of things. If e-waste is not disposed of properly then toxic heavy metals and chemicals in it get into our “soil crop-food pathway” so that these heavy metals come into contact with humans. These chemicals are not biodegradable, which means that they remain in the environment for a long time, due to which the risk of exposure increases in a large amount. 

These chemicals have very bad enemies on humans and other living beings, which cause brain, heart, liver, kidney and skeletal system damage. With this, children are born disabled. In this way, it leads to Soil Pollution, which can take a big form later.

  • You can follow the laws and regulations made by the local government, in which we are told about the ethical and safe disposal of waste. Since e-waste can pose a major threat to the environment, many communities have managed to put non-essential electronics in some special drop-off locations so that they can be controlled properly. 
  • With the donation of Electronic Products, we can reuse anything so that pollution can be prevented to a great extent. This may be because what you are not using is very important for someone else. 
  • Although E-waste recycler is very much it is a little difficult to find the right recycler among them but if we use certified E-waste recycler, it will reduce the pollution, and it is safe for our environment.

Electronic waste produces many dangerous chemicals such as lead, cadmium, beryllium, mercury, etc. This waste can contaminate our environment when we improperly dispose of gadgets and devices. These three pollute the water, land, and air, causing many diseases to us and other living animals. 

How to recycle e-waste: 

Consumer recycling: 

Under consumer recycling, electronic items that are not in use are sold to the needy or donated to them. Apart from this, they are exchanged from the manufacturers only in exchange for new products. Apart from this, they are given to a convenient recycler or refurbishing company if possible. 

Scrapping/recycling: 


The scrapping of the E-waste recycling process involves several steps to be followed: - 
1. Sorting: When e-waste comes to the recycling plant, these wastes are manually shorted and batteries are also removed if any laptops, HDD, Memories are also sorted from the rest. 
2. Disassembly: After sorting manually, the second step is manual dismantling that requires serious labor, since it is an intensive process. The e-waste items are then separated, in which they are categorized according to core materials and components. These dismantled items can also be reused other times. Metals are separated from the plastic. 
3. First size reduction process: In this process, shredding is done to those pieces which cannot be dismantled correctly. This means that those pieces are cut into a size of 2-inch diameter. This causes e-waste to be uniform. 
4. Second size reduction process: In this process, those pieces are further divided into small pieces and if any dust comes out from there, it is discarded in a place that does not harm the environment. 
5. Over-band Magnet: During this process, all magnetic materials are separated from other waste debris by using an over-band magnet. 
6. Non-metallic and metallic components separation: During this process, all metals and nonmetallic components are separated from other e-waste debris. Here metals are sold according to raw materials or they are then sold. Used again to make other products. 
7. Water Separation: This is the last step, in which plastic components are separated from glass with the help of water. Once all the materials are separated, those raw materials are re-used or resold. 
Now these recycled components such as glass (from monitors, phone screens, TV screens etc.), plastic, metal, are easily reused. 
Any plastic components that are retrieved are then sent to recyclers who use them to make other items such as fence posts, plastic sleepers, plastic trays, vineyard stakes, equipment holders, plastic chairs, and toys. 
Whatever metal is retrieved, such as copper and steel, they are sent to recyclers to make new metal products.

Never put damaged cell phones, dumped systems in landfills. Rather, send them to such organizations where recycling is being done. Buy electronic goods only from the shopkeepers who take them back to recycle in case of damage. Keep an eye on the lifetime of your hardware equipment so that e-waste can be reduced to a great extent. Large industries should buy recyclers that they can use for a long time.
